Vegetables fight back: Laboratory of Urban Agriculture
'Recently launched from Paris is a website for the Laboratory of Urban Agriculture or LUA for short. Here it seems that the vegetable is staging a fight-back.
LUA want to promote the idea and reality of urban allotment buildings and they see that the best way to do this is to create some kind of institute of the main players that will research problems associated with urban allotments, and make an effective lobby group for their promotion. The images provided appear to be from a single architectural practice, but nonetheless the questions raised are cogent enough.'

FORWARD RESIDENCE by REX - ARCHITECTURE
'By inserting a single object into the 48’ x 48’ space, the apartment is divided into rooms with distinct character, but whose uses are not fixed. This object makes essential daily service spaces—such as the kitchen and bathrooms—easily accessible from all points in the apartment, allowing the owner to re-configure the four surrounding living spaces at will.'

Moss Your City by PUSHAK
'Responding to a long history of moss in architecture – from traditional Japanese gardens to Victorian mosseries – PUSHAK presents a spectacular moss landscape that is designed to inspire and enchant. The aim is to show moss as a beautiful and versatile material that can work in harmony with contemporary design. Naturally abundant and requiring low maintenance, moss could be exploited to create new types of architecture that unite nature and architecture.
PUSHAK believes that, along with architects and planners, individuals should also take responsibility for greening cities to create more amenable, vibrant and healthier places to live. The accompanying catalogue shows how you can get involved in urban gardening projects in South London, as well as providing a recipe for ‘moss graffiti’ so that you too can Moss Your City.'

Garage Centre for Contemporary Culture by OMA

'Translucent polycarbonate will clad the exterior, while inside the galleries hinged panels will fold down from the ceilings to create white walls when necessary.'
Amazed by how OMA could turn a place like this (see existing photo) into a lively space. Simply having translucent polycarbonate panels covering almost full elevation with gap all along at the bottom, creating a sense of lightness, as well as distinguishing the inside and outside.
How can you not love OMA?
